Let's do this!!!

Hello all,

As a community, we will be using a new calendar to track events, meetings, and so forth. While I'm ultimately looking to have something built into the site that has optimal functionality and can be coded/edited to our tastes, for now the calendar we're going to use is one currently under development with lots of promise - Allgenda.

If you go to the "Allgenda" link in the Quick Links frame on our homepage (under the Facebook link), it will open their site up within an article on our site (it's just an iFrame really). I'd advise everyone to check this out and get signed up - some guild activities (ex: FFXIV raids & primals) will begin requiring that you're signed up and have a character on file there.

If anyone has questions, problems, or general feedback about this service then please feel free to drop me a line.

For connecting to our calendars on Allgenda, the Group ID is 3463 and the password is lava2009

I wanted to add here that I've been chatting with the creator & developer of Allgenda this week (Alan) via email. His responses have been very welcoming and at my request he created a new event under FFXIV (Steps of Faith), so it appears that keeping up with content won't be a big issue.

Also, I touched on the subject of guild members not wanting to use the site and the potential option of creating 'guest' members where we can sign people up for events without them needing to create an account. He has added this to his planned features list but will not be attacking that list until he completes the mobile-friendly version of the service. Therefore, in the meantime I will be creating email accounts within our domain so we're able to sign up people who do not wish to register and/or are not part of the Raven community (members of other guilds, etc.). Those accounts will be marked with a symbol or comment to help show that they are not managed by that actual player, and will have an @ravenlegion.net address displayed. For example:

#RedWolf - [email protected]

For those who did sign up, here's what he said about email address usage:  "I will not do anything other than send Allgenda news or service message with these addresses."

At present I have no plans to use your email addresses either. In fact we've only sent one mass email over the past 6 years, and ensured those recipients that we would not bother them again if their accounts on this site remained inactive.
