First of all, if you have applied or are thinking of applying with Raven, we would like to thank you for your consideration.
Process: I'm sure you may be wondering "so what happens next?" Most commonly, we will read and respond to your application with an in-thread reply within 24 hours. We prefer to follow your initial application with an informal chat in Ventrilo. We may ask a few questions, but do not feel that it is a pass/fail interview of sorts. Depending on the conversations, we generally follow up with some teaming-up in the game to see if personalities and playstyles continue to blend well. This may include things such as grouping up in an instanced dungeon, or getting together with crafters and working to supply materials to get upgrades made for lower level members or others in need. At this point, we will be forming a final decision on membership and you will hear from myself or another officer directly.
Mission: The overall goal is to give you a chance to get to know us (and us a chance to know you) on a more personal level than you might have experienced in other guilds. We believe that by doing this, you can get a true feel of whether or not the environment fits you and your personality, as well as your playstyle and in-game goals. Please know that if for some reason you are not accepted, it doesn't mean that we think you are a bad person or player. You may simply have aspirations that do not match with our goals and intentions, and we do not wish to disappoint you or our existing members in the long run by accepting a person who may not find happiness in our environment.
Privacy: As a final note, be aware that during the later stages of the decision process your application will be removed from this category and placed in an archive that is only accessible to officers. This is to ensure that any information you have provided is protected and not made public to future visitors and members of our site. We respect that you took the time to tell us a bit about yourself, and we prefer to keep that between you and us. Of course, if you would like to share more about yourself you are always welcome to make an introduction post in the forums.
